El Supurao de Rioja is more than just a wine; it embodies a tradition and reflects ethno-cultural significance. Sweet yet perfectly balanced with acidity, it originates from a meticulous process where the grapes are hung throughout the winter in the upper sections of homes, allowing them to concentrate their juices and 'supurating'. When the raisining process reaches its peak and winter draws to a close, the dried grapes are pressed, resulting in a very sweet must. This undergoes a partial fermentation in the winery, producing a unique and singular wine, rich in distinctive flavours and aromas that hark back to the past. A limited production of just 270 bottles makes this wine exceptionally rare.
